Francesca Gonzalez

There’s a picture of me somewhere at home. I’m standing in the middle of Main Street in Disneyland, both hands on slightly bent knees with my hips jutting out to one side, head slightly tilted, hamming it up for the camera. It is solid proof that even before I knew about the wonders of lip-gloss and push-up bras, I was a girly-girl through and through. I was never the sporty-type-- though I did like playing basketball and volleyball-- I always preferred ballet or gymnastics, or drawing and painting at home. Aside from art, I also love fashion. Which is great that I also do a little modeling because both go hand-in-hand. I also like watching movies, food, blogging, and trying out new things. I like to think that I’m a pretty open-minded person. I don’t like depending on other people and I like the idea of being on my own.

For a good part of my teenage years, I fell crazy in love with the color pink. I was so obsessed that one time in class when the professor asked everyone to say something about themselves and I said, “I love the color pink”, She responded by saying, “I can tell!” I looked down and realized I was wearing a pink jacket, holding on to my pink bag, and wearing pink earrings! Yeaaa, I was the kikay girl and as much as I was girly and feminine, I was also just as crazy and weird!

Modeling isn’t my whole life, but it’s a dream I’ve always wanted to pursue. After I graduated college (which was, like, two months ago), so many of my dreams came true. And now, with an opportunity like this, maybe another one of them might come to life as well. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s to keep on shining, and living and loving life the best way I can.
